Arturo Serna

 

Arturo studied at the famous El Sistema and continued cello studies in France and Switzerland.  He began his conducting career at Trinity College, London and is now studying at Blackheath Conservatoire and has been accepted to participate in Master Classes at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, under the guidance of Mark Heron.  A busy and passionate pedagogue Arturo taught at the Dacapo Foundation, London, for 6 years and currently teaches in Dorset and Somerset.  He is a well known professional cellist performing in Royal Festival Hall, St Martin in the Fields and many other London venues, as well as at the Fort MacLeod International Festival Canada.  As an avid musician he had an active performance schedule with pianist Ana Laura Manero.  Their ensemble, Duo Teresa Carreno have performed extensively in Europe and Venezuela.

 

Charitable Status

The Bridport Chamber Orchestra has charitable status and is self-funding.  Its financial support is obtained mainly from ticket sales, local authority grants and generous contributions from its patrons, friends and in particular, our sponsor, Alan Williams.   New patrons and friends are always welcome, please contact us for details.
